TECHNOLOGY INFORMATICS DESIGN ENDEAVOUR (TIDE)Technology Informatics Design Endeavour (TIDE) is an organization devoted to sustainable development through technological interventions. It is a registered not-for-profit society set up in 1993 and registered under the Societies Registration Act. We envisage development as a process that meets the needs of the neediest, is in harmony with the environment, permits grass root participation, uses local resources and builds local capacity. Vision To be consistently successful in addressing developmental concerns of the needy communities through technological interventions Mission To identify suitable technological interventions, effect improvements needed for field deployment and undertake various measures to promote the spread of these technologies. The direction of work of TIDE is as follows
TIDE has completed more than 100 projects and has about 10 on going projects at any given point of time. TIDE has been funded by Government at the district, state and central government levels and by international and bilateral funding agencies. It is registered under the FCRA (Foreign Contribution Regulation Act) and has income tax exemption under section 80G of the IT Act. TIDE is an organization with a strong focus on technology and has very competent technical teams in each of its areas of work. The technical teams comprise of qualified management professionals, engineers, scientists, social scientists and journalists. In addition, many consultants who are experts in their chosen area of work are associated with TIDE. It also has a competent field team to work on its technology dissemination projects. TIDE is governed by a five member Council of Management that is elected by the members of the general body.
