Papagni Watershed

The Papagni Watershed project was carried out for the National Tree Grower's Co-operative Federation, Anand, which is a division of National Dairy Development Board, Anand, Gujarat to understand the natural resource information in the watershed. We prepared the various thematic maps and villagewise census information for the entire watershed.

Promotion Of Energy Efficient Charaka Ovens

Research efforts, at various levels, have resulted in the search for energy efficient, low-cost technologies for charaka reelers of the silk reeling sector. TIDE has developed an improved charaka oven that is pre-fabricated and, standardized for design and performance. The biofuel savings effected by the improved charaka ovens can result in biofuel savings and hence income enhancement.

Construction, monitoring and reporting on fuel efficient bhattis

In this project TIDE has collaborated with Foundation for Ecological Security (FES), Madanapalle, to introduce energy efficient bhattis in their project areas. Firewood is he traditional cooking fuel in the region and it is also the cheapest and easily accessible. The objective of the project is to conserve firewood and improve the working atmosphere. The stoves that are being installed are the large cooking stoves for roadside eateries and restaurants, stoves for making dosas and frying stoves.
