BUILDING LOCAL ENTREPRENEURSHIPS

TIDE believes that the end point of every successful entrepreneurship with innovative technology is when local capacity is built to handle all aspects of the entrepreneurship  - procurement of materials, their processing, packaging / delivery / sales, establishment of necessary linkages and demonstration of sustained profitability.  This also enables an exit path for TIDE who is free to take up other challenges.

TIDE has established entrepreneurship with individuals for delivery of biomass conserving stoves and dryers and for processing of cashew, fish and horticultural produce by women's groups.

TIDE has understood that the issues involved in women's entrepreneurship relate more to overcoming social obstacles whereas with individual men the challenge is to meet the entrepreneur's expectation of profitability and growth. The approach to build entrepreneurship in each case is therefore different.
