Diffusion of Efficient Biomass Utilization technologies in non-formal industries in Karnataka And KeralaThis project aims to improve end use efficiency of bio-mass for energy purposes in select non-domestic, non-formal industries in States of Karnataka and Kerala. The purpose of this project is to ensure that by the end of the project period, non-formal industries in Karnataka and Kerala are, on a sustained basis, installing and operating efficient fuel wood utilization devices after procuring them through a normal market mechanism. |

Promoting Fish Drying using efficient biomass driersThis project has demonstrated the technology of fuel efficient biomass dryers for hygienic of fish. Four groups of women have initiated fish drying enterprises. The groups dry between 5 - 10 tons of fish and prawns every year and earn significant profits.

Capacity building of existing networks of NGOs, CBOs,SHGs for environment linked income generation activitiesThis project contributed to the capacity building of self help groups, non government and community based organization for environment linked income generation activities. The project reached 1600 women through awareness programmes and 176 women were introduced to income generation activities. |

Capacity building among community based organisation: Household level cashew processing by women's neighbourhood help groups in Kasargod district of KeralaThe project developed the capacity of three women's groups leading to the establishment of a household / neighbourhood level cashew processing facility. The project also set up a training cum production centre in Pallikere panchayat of Kasargod district, Kerala Development and introduction of training courses in biomass based drying technologies This ongoing project aims to build the capacity of identified TIDE staff in conducting technical and enterprise training courses for semi literate women. Four women's enterprises would become operational as a result of project interventions. |
