BOTANICAL TREATMENT SYSTEMWastewater is treated in an integrated system with anaerobic and aerobic
solution. The aerobic solution is based on the botanical treatment system.
The technique involves creating a bed of textured soil normally not more
than 1 metre deep. This soil layer is planted with wetland plants. Wetland
plants are so evolved to survive and grow in the inundated situation,
because they have the capability to absorb atmospheric oxygen through
the stomatal openings and push it through the aerenchyma to the rhizosphere. Botanical Treatment System
