THE DIFFUSION MECHANISMThe diffusion of innovative developmental technologies calls for concerted efforts towards development of facilitatory networks for production, construction, market development and maintenance. Context specific strategies need to be developed considering the techno-economic factors such as operational requirements, swap costs, labour networks, presence of influencing agents such as opinion leaders andGovernmental extension mechanisms, purchasing power of target clientele, cost and efficacy of technology delivery and, the past efforts in diffusion of technologies in the local scenario. The ICEF-supported project has diffused technologies through entrepreneurial networks consisting of masons, contractors, mason-contractors and, owners of privately owned enterprises. |
