An efficient energy experience

Nataraj, a diploma holder in civil engineering, worked as an assistant to a civil contractor in shimoga, Karnataka. In 1998, TIDE selected him as a trainee entrepreneur. During 1998-99, he was trained in construction and marketing of biofuel saving devicessuch as arecanut cooking stoves, arecanut/cardamom dryers and other stoves. The training and support from TIDE enabled him to establish M/s. Green care technologies in shimoga. Today, he has emerged as an entrepreneur promoting energy efficient technology in five districts contiguous to shimoga district. He has sold stoves, dryers and kilns of sale value about 1.2 crore reaching out to about 800 rural clients. This outreach has been possible due to the ingenious marketing and financial systems that nataraj has developed. The devices installed by nataraj have the potential to annually conserve about 6000 MTs of biofuels.
